A new differentiation antigen defining a subpopulation of mouse T cells

Abstract

IT is generally accepted that lymphocyte reactions such as the mitogenic response to concanavalin A (con A) and phytohaemagglutinin (PHA), the graft versus host (GvH) reaction, the helper effect in the antibody response and cell-mediated cytotoxicity (CMC) all involve the activity of thymus-derived lymphocytes (T cells). Because of the paucity of techniques for identifying cells with different functions, however, very little is known about the identity and relationships of T cells involved in these reactions.
