Abstract
DISPUTE over the observed racial differences in intelligence has centred on causal attribution: cultural bias in the testing, hereditary disparities between races and environmental variation. All systematic interpretations of these differences, however, rest on the same fundamental psychometric assumptions. We here examine one of those assumptions.
