Clonal growth of Hodgkin cells

Abstract

ALTHOUGH several cell types derived from biopsies of patients with Hodgkin's disease have been grown in vitro1,2, there has been no convincing experimental evidence for the identity and origin of such cells. We wish to present data demonstrating clonal and continuous proliferation of Hodgkin cells, their relationship to Reed–Sternberg cells and their probable origin from B lymphocytes.
