Direct measurement of electric current generation by cytochrome oxidase, H+-ATPase and bacteriorhodopsin.

Abstract

SUMMARY. A method for association of proteoliposomes with planar phospholipid membrane has been elaborated, by which operation of molecular electric generators, such as cytochrome oxidase, H+-ATPase and bacteriorhodopsin, can be followed using ordinary electrometer techniques.
