Survivin is a member of the inhibitors of apoptosis gene family and is abundantly expressed in several cancer entities including hematopoietic malignancies but is undetectable in terminally differentiated adult tissues with only a few exceptions.1 Survivin could be specifically recognized by the immune system and thus can be regarded as a tumor-associated antigen.2, 3 Recently, several reports demonstrated that cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) specific for survivin-derived determinants are capable of efficiently killing leukemia targets endogenously expressing survivin.3, 4, 5, 6, 7
