Abstract
LITTLE is known about the rate and direction of the drift of icebergs in the Labrador area of the continental shelf. Because of the obvious hazard to offshore drilling operations in this potentially oil-rich area there is an urgent need for detailed information. We wish to report the results of an operation carried out by Maritime Command of the Canadian Armed Forces, in cooperation with the Defence Research Board of Canada.
