Solubilization and Partial Purification of Human Leukaemic Specific Antigens

Abstract

USING the mixed lymphocyte reaction, we have reported evidence for the existence of neo-antigens on human leukaemic cells1. These observations have been confirmed by others using similar techniques2,3. There is now convincing evidence for the existence of tumour specific antigens in humans4–6 and in addition mouse leukaemic antigens have been solubilized and purified7,8. We have attempted to extract and solubilize human leukaemia specific antigens, because solubilization is an essential prerequisite for purification.
