Enzymatic Release of Phosphate from Rat Molar Enamel by Phosphoprotein Phosphatase

Abstract

THE aetiology of dental caries has defied complete understanding, despite the fact that the production of bacterial acids at the sites of caries attack has been recognized since the days of Miller, some ninety years ago. Although alternatives to acids have at times been considered, they have never been convincing.
