Abstract
4-NITROQUINOLINE-N-OXIDE (4-NQO) is a potent carcinogen1 and mutagen2, which has been shown to induce tumours in mammals3, cause nuclear abnormalities in Tetrahymena4 and induce alterations in tissue culture cell nuclei5.
