Abstract
McLEAN et al.1 have shown by a photometric method that a plasmatic factor is involved in rabbit platelet aggregation in the presence of calcium and ADP. This factor is heat-labile, present in the 0.2 M saturated ammonium sulphate fraction, and more stable at room temperature than at 5° C. Using human and bovine fibrinogens prepared as described by Maxwell2 they were able to show that platelet aggregation occurs in their presence even when the platelets were previously incubated in heated rabbit plasma; this was not so if incubation was done in saline. All these facts confirm their idea that fibrinogen plays a part in rabbit platelet aggregation.
