Abstract
IT is known that 7.3-see gold-197m is formed by neutron irradiation of natural gold and that it emits 0.279-MeV γ-ray. A preliminary experiment was made by Anders1 using neutrons at a flux of 2 × 108 n/cm2/sec, where only relatively few counts of γ-rays were collected for samples containing 15 mg of gold.
