Some Physical Properties of Glassy Carbon

Abstract

As is well known, carbons are, in general, porous and gas-permeable materials. However, a gas-impermeable carbon has been recently made by Davidson1, named ‘Cellulose-carbon’, which is not an impregnated type and is formed by centrifuging a water suspension of cellulose, followed by calcination.
