Abstract
WE have studied with the electron microscope the morphological changes of tubercle bacilli caused by Ziehl-Neelsen's and Fontes' stainings. BCG was stained on the specimen-holders by these methods and photographed with the light microscope, using the volatile anisol immersion-system; the same bacilli were photographed again with the electron microscope. A similar method has been used by Takeya et al. 1 and Glauert and Brieger2 in other staining procedures.
