ACG 2009 in San Diego
Surf, sails, and sand await you in San Diego, the location for the ACG 2009 Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course, October 23-28. ACG Regional Courses in 2009
Join your colleagues for one or more of our 2009 Regional Courses which will be held throughout the U.S. in New Orleans, New York, Las Vegas, Florida, Kansas City, Williamsburg, and Houston. Courses are held on weekends and allow time to enjoy the destination city so you can combine earning CME credits with a little relaxation. Call for Applications: ACG 2009 International GI Training Grant Awards
The International Relations Committee of the American College of Gastroenterology is now accepting applications for the 2009 International GI Training Grants. One grant supports a physician from outside the U.S. and Canada to come for training at selected medical training centers in North America. The other provides support to a U.S. or Canadian fellow in training or a GI physician who has completed their training within the last 5 years to receive training outside of North America. For each training grant, one fellowship with a maximum of $10,000 will be awarded. For more information and to download the applications, click here.

ACG 2008 Course Materials Now Available for Purchase
If you were unable to make it to portions of this year's ACG Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course in Orlando, or simply want to review what you learned, you can now purchase syllabi from all 2008 courses, including the Postgraduate Course, Annual Meeting, Breakfast Sessions, Practice Management Course, What's New in GI Pharmacology, and GI Pathology and Imaging in the Evaluation of Gastrointestinal Disease. You can also purchase the 2008 Self-Assessment Test as a review tool or submit your answers for 12 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits
Obesity Risks: Increase Patient Awareness with ACG's New Resources
The American College of Gastroenterology recently announced its Obesity Initiative featuring new educational tools and resources for physicians and patients about the health risks of obesity. The College's primary objective in encouraging an enhanced focus on nutrition, metabolism and obesity is to bring the clinical and scientific expertise of GI physicians to bear in formulating solutions to the obesity epidemic – both at the national health policy level and in terms of advancing clinical practice.
